multiply each term in the equation by p^2 + p, simplify and solve
I did that, but I don't know what it looks like after I multiply. @Harkirat
ok wait..
you should get\[p+5=1-p ^{2}+6p\]
now you can shift terms to get a quadratic equation and solve it.
How did you get p^2 + 6p
what about the denominator p + 1
\[\frac{ p+5 }{p ^{2}+p }*{p ^{2}+p }=\frac{ 1 } {p ^{2}+p } *{p ^{2}+p }-\frac{ p-6 }{ p+1}*{p ^{2}+p }\]
\[p+5 =1-\frac{ p-6 }{ p+1}*p(p+1)\] Now you can cancel out p+1 from numerator and denominator
What would you do then?
This will give you\[p+5=1-(p-6)(p)\] which will lead to \[p+5=1-p ^{2}+6p\]
now you can shift all terms to left hand side and get a quadratic equation
0 = -4 - p^2 + 5p
better make it p^2-5p+4=0 ....positives are easier to handle
Can you take it from here????
I think so
Good.....
