I am learning about sequences in pre-calculus. I know how to determine if a sequence is arithmetic , geometric or neither. Is there a trick (or rule) to finding the apparent nth term? Some of them are so complicated that I can't just see what they are. ex) 4,6,9,27/2 is a geometric sequence with an apparent nth term = (4)(3/2)^n-1. How?
