Find the area of the circle

what does that 5 refer to? the radius?
Not sure. In fact, I'm not even sure what the lemon is referring to.
that's all you're given is the diagram?
hey don't make fun of my drawing :P On a side note, how does a http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Planimeter work?
your drawing is fine, i just don't know where the 5 fits in is it a radius? diameter? circumference?
It's all three. But seriously, how does a planimeter work?
how can it be all 3? that makes no sense and I'm not sure, I've never heard of it
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Planimeter apparently it can find the area of stuffs...
it looks like it's taking advantage of integral calculus in some way, but that's beyond the scope of your course
Hey, my course is all about drawing lemons. I don't like riemann sums anyways. Seems like it uses a lot of multivariate - what is this stokes theorem and green's theorem anyways?
I'm not exactly sure, sorry calculus wasn't my best class for me but if I remember correctly, it's about vector calculus
Okay.
Plantimeter was commonly used in engineering drawings in "Civil engineering, Mechanical engineering", etc. o'course before the advent of CAD systems
@electrokid, how do these magic machines work and where can I get one?
