What are the next three terms of the sequence 1, -3, 9, -27,…?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

We first need to decide what the pattern is here. We can find r (a variable used in calculus sequences) by dividing the second term by the first term, or -3/1=r. That gives us r=-3. Every term in a sequence is multiplied by r to get to the next set. So the next three terms would be -27(-3)=72, 72(-3)=-243, and -243(-3)=729

Working on sequences in calculus as we speak.

but for the first 1 its 81

My apologies, that's was my mistake. You are correct that the first term is 81.
