find function f,f', and f'' in the following graph

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

One thing you can notice in this case, is that the red line looks similar to an y=x^3 graph, the the green looks like y=x^2, and the blue looks like y=x. When you have y=x^3, the derivative y'=3x^2, and the second is y'' = 6x.

ohh so we can first try to figure out what is the equation and from there see what is the derivative function ok i never theought of that thanks

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

Yes :) with a bigger graph it'd be easier to point out key points, unless you have a bigger image?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no thats the only graph i have but i see what you mean

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks :)

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

You're welcome :) If you look at the red line, you can kinda see that it's got a slope of near zero at around x=0.25 That lines up with the part of the green graph where there's a flat slope, and where the blue line cuts the x-axis. Either way, line B looks like f, C looks like f', and A looks like f''.

ok yeah i just check and its correct
