Could someone help me with a question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nahh prolly nottt..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i mean "no"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{2}{3}\] is a number, whereas \(\frac{2x+4}{3x+6}\) is a rational expression, whose value will depend on the value of \(x\)

OpenStudy (nubeer):

umm don't u think whatever we take the value of x we will get 2/3 in the end..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{2x+4}{3x+6}=\frac{2(x+2)}{3(x+2)}=\frac{2}{3}\] but only if \(x\neq -2\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so they are "equivalent" if you specify that \(x\neq -2\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's equivalent to 2/3 ONLY AND ONLY IF 'x' is NOT EQUAL to -2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay so it is equivalent! thanks! @satellite73 @saloniiigupta95 @nubeer

Pleasure :-)
