OpenStudy (anonymous):

If the determinant is not zero then the matrix has an inverse

OpenStudy (amistre64):

but why? ;)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because to find the inverse you can use the determinant to find the inverse matrix but if its zero then everything equals to zero or should I say undefine

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You have to multiply the diagonals of the matrix and subtract them from each other to see if its zero

OpenStudy (amistre64):

i wonder, an inverse can more easily be found with an augment to I. does a det=0 confound that as well? or does it just not panout ....
