A card is drawn from the box and the number is 1. D. A card is drawn from the box and the number is even. A card is drawn from the box and the number is 1.

Two or more events are said to be mutually exclusive if they cannot occur at the same time. In other words, events that have no outcomes in common are said to be mutually exclusive events or disjoint events. Therefore the answer is D because 1 is not even.

cool thanks

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Mutually exclusive means that the two events cannot happen at the same time. Picking an even number and picking an odd number are mutually exclusive events because an even number is not an odd number and vice versa. Picking an even number and picking a 2 are not mutually exclusive because 2 is even.
