http://oi40.tinypic.com/33n8cxx.jpg I want to factor out an x. Can I? Should I? I'm still bad with logarithms..

google "khan academy logarithms". problem solved.

OpenStudy (mertsj):

\[\log_{5}(x+6)^2-(\log_{5}(x-10)+\log_{5}(x-15))=\log_{5}\frac{(x+6)^2}{(x-10)(x-15)} \]

Thanks :) Can you tell me where I went wrong when I was trying to work out the problem?

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Your problem said - log(x-15) and you multiplied by (x-15) instead of dividing by it. Did you notice how I factored out the -1 demonstrating that (x-10)(x-15) should be multiplied and then the product should go in the denominator since it is - that product.
