Given that y=3x^2+6x-7/(x+1)^2 Show that dy/dx = 20/(x+1)^3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

take long division, you get y = \[y = 3-\frac{ 10 }{ (x+1)^2 }\] then take derivative, the sum, first term =0, second term = LHS of yours

Thanks that helped a lot, but is there anyway to use the product rule for the denominator then the quotient rule for the rest. I tried and it didn't work. I think I would find this way much easier though.

sorry for blur , I don't pay attention until I check, but it doesn't matter,

You made it look so easy, finally understand it now. Thanks for the help it is much appreciated
