If you just require help with the integrals at the last step then I recommend you to split them up: \[2\int\limits \frac{ 1 }{ V^2+1 }dV+\int\limits \frac{ V }{ V^2+1 }dV=\int\limits \frac{ 1 }{ X }dX\] The first one from the left should pop into your eyes, it's the arctan function of V, the next one can be solved with a simple substitution for the denominator, hence it will turn out to be the natural log of that substitution with a scalar cofactor, same goes for the right hand side, the natural log of X.
