persuasive project, you have been asked to take a stance on an issue and argue your point. Part of creating a good argument is anticipating how others might react to it. What does this mean?
It's like arguing with the other person before they even get a chance to argue. It's covering the opposing points. What is your topic? What stance are you taking? I just finished an argument paper on adoption. My stance was how great it is. I had to research opposing arguments, and argue my point against those. For example, women in Australia hated the institution of adoption because from 1950-1980 babies were practically stolen from unwed teen mothers there. I had to argue that it was an unethical practice, but it wasn't a good reason to oppose adoption just because the people in that country had no morals. Does that make sense?
