true or false Two lines with the same y-intercept are parallel.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is FALSE. Two lines with same SLOPE are parallel; NOT same y-intercept :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks :)

OpenStudy (raden):

sometimes 2 lines bellow is has the same y-intercept :) x+y = 1 3x + 3y = 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@RadEn but x+y = 1, and 3x+3y = 3. 3x+3y = 3 is again x+y = 1 on dividing both sides by 3 which is actually the same line so not parallel maybe?

OpenStudy (raden):

no, lucky. they area different but has in the same plane and actually they are has the infinity intersects

OpenStudy (raden):

* they are

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and so they are not parallel right? :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so is it true

OpenStudy (raden):

if the lines as i said above, they are parallel but not always, @pellicanlover11 :)

OpenStudy (raden):

you options shuld are true false not always (true or false)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

"nd actually they are has the infinity intersects" But i thought parallel lines never meet?

OpenStudy (raden):

parallel means has the same gradient (slope), not means "never meet :P
