tanz=y/x x=0 and y=-3. This is a parametrics problem but i simplified it to the part i'm stuck on. I think it's basic trigonometry, but how do i solve for z? thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the actual problem is : find the polar coordinates of the point (0,-3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i realized there's a divide by zero issue, so i just showed my work by graphing it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(3,3pi/2) is my answer, i just don't know if a graph is acceptable for showing my work

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah i know that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well they are multiple representations.. do you think i should write it your way

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have no work haha, i just plotted (0,-3) i believe my answer and both of yours are all correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i believe all three would be acceptable

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you for all your help, let's move on to more productive things

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you for steering me in the right direction. i solved for r and then theta, and ended up with (3,3pi/2) still

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hey i don't wanna waste your time anymore, i'm done with that problem as i've said twice

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry if i "fooled" ya
