x=y-2 4x+y=2 how do i use substitution to solve system of equations?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you replace the x = y-2 in the first equation into the x of the second equation: 4(y-2) + y = 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is that it no more steps its just 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I WAS HELPING YOU ON THAT PREVIOUSLY...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes. the answer is y = 2. then you plug that back in to find x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i thought you left earlier
