I need help on this problem. Use slopes to show that the points A (-1,-5), B (1,-1), and C (3,3) are collinear, that is, they lie on the same line
Y not graph it, find slope, and plug that into y=mx+b
ello
i think u must get the same equation for the line
i does not matter if u use the points A and B or A and C
Actually, you need to make sure to use all the points when doing it by slope method. So you make two lines, one with two points, one with the other point and one used in the first equation. If they share a point and have the same slope, they are the same line.
Oh ok
That's what I originally thought, but I wasn't completely sure about it
Well, there you go! Confirmation! Hehe. You were on the right path. And that is good.
I just found the slope of AB, AC, and BC and they all had a slope of 2, so this means that they are all on the same line
Yep! And if you needed it written as a proof, that is not that much more.
