How would you determine the slope and y-intercept of the given line: 3x + 4y + 2 = 0 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Solve so that y is on one side. Then, simplify into y=ax+b ("slope-intercept form"). a is the slope, b is the y-intercept, which is why it's called slope-intercept form. Not very creative, but who cares?

So it could be 4y = -3x -2 ?

Then, divide by 4 so that y is on its own.
