what is the solution of the equation? (√2x + 13) -5 = x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Did you at least try to solve this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Luis_Rivera In the function the 13 is under the radical so you cant subtract 5 from it. sorry is that wasnt clear in the way i put it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and yes i did attempt this meni

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know this site you can just put your equations but it doesn't explain it. Want the link?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i would like an explanation to learn what im doing wrong. Just getting the answer kind of defeats the purpose of learning. No thanks.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Luis_Rivera Do you think you could give it another shot with the 13 being under the radical?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Luis_Rivera I'm really sorry by under the radical i meant its \[\sqrt{2x+13}-5=x\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you i see what i did wrong! Thanks a ton!
