@Notamathgenius

OpenStudy (notamathgenius):

Bc looks looks bigger so It needs to be bigger than 8 but not by much 9 or 10 maybe

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its not drawn to scale

OpenStudy (anonymous):

actually, on my paper here, BA is a tiny bit longer than BC

OpenStudy (notamathgenius):

Then BC is 7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u can't just estimate like that.. i need to work it out

OpenStudy (notamathgenius):

Well How can you work it out if it's clearly smaller?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

omg u clearly aren't a math genius.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what if the answer is wrongg? u cannot just estimate you have to use trig functions. either cos, sin, or tan

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u have to label the sides hypotenuse, adjacent, and opposite.

@doppler

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i need help :( ive just been sitting here

OpenStudy (anonymous):

SOH CAH TOA Use TOA here: tan(angle) = opp/adj tan(29) = opp/8 opp = tan(29)*8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and wats the final answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You don't have a calculator?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

mine doesn't do good scientific calculations .. i dont rly need one for geo

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is your operating system?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

huh?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Your accessing this forum, so you obviously have a computer. What is your computer's operating system?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk what that is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

C'mon, dammit! You called me in here; are you going to work with me or not?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@qweqwe123123123123111

OpenStudy (anonymous):

srry my computer was slow, do u mean what TYPE of computer i have??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im not good with computers at all, but i know its a desktop and i have windows 7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh yea and lenovo

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No. I mean what OPERATING SYSTEM are you running? Windows 7? XP? MAC OS?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

^^^ windows 7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but i think i got the answer i just calculated it! 4.4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can u just message me what u need to say? u can copy and paste if ur still writing, bcuz i need to close this question to write a new one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, does Win7 still have a "start-run" option? IOW, is there a "start" button in the lower left of your screen? And if yes, then is there a "run" option when you click it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no i dont see run

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think that's in the old computers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay. The whole point was that you claimed you didn't have a calculator. Every version of windows has had a calculator included as part of its OS, and is usually found by typing "calc" into the run window. You can close the question now.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know that my computer has a calculator, all u have to do is search it. but its not a SCIENTIFIC CALCULATOR

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its just basic

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@qweqwe123123123123111

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i just typed in run, and its there, what does that mean?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

omg thnx so much! i just click options ive never tried thatt now i can do it all

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes you can!! MS Calc is a great little app, and handy as hell :-) Sometimes even Microsoft gets things right! :-)
