Another ellipse question..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{ (x-1)^2 }{ 4 }+\frac{ (y-2)^2 }{ 1 } = 1\] Find the vertices, center, and foci. So..I think the center is (1,2) and the vertices are (4,0)(-4,0)(0,1)(0,-1)?

OpenStudy (loser66):

it's a shifted ellipse, right?

OpenStudy (turingtest):

if the center is at (1,2), which is correct, what are the semimajor and minor axes? use those to determine the vertices

OpenStudy (loser66):

I think vertices must be (-1,2) and (3,2) since the whole thing move to the right 1 unit and up 2 unit,
