I really need help with this pls! Nakim Simplified 3√2x + x√8x - 5√18x and got -10x√2x for an answer. Part 1: Using complete sentences, explain what Nakim did wrong. Part 2: Show all your work to simplify the expression. (You can use "sqrt()" to show a square root. For example,7Part 1: Using complete sentences, explain what Nakim did wrong. Part 2: Show all your work to simplify the expression. (You can use "sqrt()" to show a square root. For example, 7√a can be written as 7sqrt(a). a can be written as 7sqrt(a). )

the answer to this equation is -12√2x+2x√2x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But what did Nakim do wrong?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a lot of things it seems

Explain

OpenStudy (primeralph):

Nakim needs to be spanked

OpenStudy (anonymous):

could be a number of things he did wrong, but i can't think what he did that would've led to that wrong answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I need to know at least 1 thing that Nakim did wrong. That is part 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the only thing i can think of is him bringing out the x in 3sqrt(2x) and -5sqrt(18x) which would give him -12xsqrt(2x) + 2xsqrt(2x) = -10xsqrt(2x) But this doesn't sound logical because he didn't take out any x term in xsqrt(8x)

That is great! Thx so much mate!

no problem
