Plz help inequalities..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sketch the curve.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so after i multiplied em i got \[x ^{3}-16x ^{2}+79x-120\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Have you sketched the curve? Because it would help you understand inequalities.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You don't multiply anything.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You just sketch it as it is now. You have the three x-intercepts.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5, 3 and 8?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So you plot them and then to see how the curve starts from one end, you plug in an x-value that isn't an x-intercept and see whether you get a negative or positive y-coordinate. That will determine how the curve starts, whether from the negative side or positive side.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So let's plot the easiest x-value you can possibly have which is 0.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When you put that in, what number do you get? \[(0-5)(0-3)(0-8)=?\] Do you get a negative number or positive number?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh i know how to do this
