What is the difference between iron ore and haematite?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haematite is a reddish brown mineral of iron(III) oxide, Fe2O3. it's an important ore of iron. but there are other iron ores. incidentally, haematite comes from the greek word which means "blood-like", and i think the distinctive color of blood comes from the iron(III) ions, mostly carried by hemoglobins in red blood cells.
