geometry help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

starting wid finding \(m\angle R\)

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

*Start

OpenStudy (anonymous):

82

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

how 82, can u show the work

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i did 118-36

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

why

OpenStudy (anonymous):

All the angles must add up to 180

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

this problem is more trickier than that. we need to find \(m\angle R \) first

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i just thought because theres m<s=36 then mRS=118

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Why couldn't she just subtract angle RS from 180?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

ok i got u. 118 - 36 is not correct

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

180-RS is also incorrect

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

\(m\angle R = 90 + (180-118)/2 = 121 \) \(m\angle S = 36\) \(m\angle U = ?\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ahh I got it.

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

good :)

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

@vivianrush since you knw 2 angles in a triangle, you can use triangle sum property to find the third side :- 121+36+ U = 180 U = 180 - 157 = 23

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

see if that makes some sense

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so u would be 23

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

yep ! last q u closed halfway. did u get solution for geom5.png ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i did it was 44 if i remember correctly

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

44 is correct for geom5. good work !
