So for the particle at extreme position (say X) equation would be y=acos(wt) and for the particle at mean position (say Y) the equation would be y=asin(wt).. I dont really know what to do next?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ew, Physics.. :l

OpenStudy (april115):

Dang!! i get what you mean kitt

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@.Sam.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@sarah_98 :P

OpenStudy (mos1635):

set y1=y2 and solve.....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

coswt=sinwt .. what do i do with w ?

OpenStudy (mos1635):

divide with cos ωt....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

tanwt=1 --> wt=pi/4 --> 2pi/T*t=pi/4 --> t=T/8 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is that right?

OpenStudy (mos1635):

yeap i like it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

umm. answer is 3T/8 :o

OpenStudy (mos1635):

let me chek.......

OpenStudy (mos1635):

y1= cos ωt y2 = - sin ωt

OpenStudy (mos1635):

tan ωt=-1

OpenStudy (mos1635):

ωt=3π/4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh darn. it was silly of me to do that mistake. Thank you. :)

OpenStudy (mos1635):

i missed the (-) sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):
