Solve the inequality 2(x + 6) 3x − 2 and show all of your work. You can use >= to represent the greater than or equal to symbol.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You need 2(x + 6) >= 3x-2 solved, right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yup

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok, so first you distribute the 2: 2x + 12 >= 3x - 2 Then you get the x's on one side and the numbers on one side. -x >= -14 And make x positive (Remember, the sign switches if you divide by a negative) x <=14

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so x<14?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x <= 14. It works when x is 14. As far as I have checked, this is correct. You may want to double check my work by plugging in 13, 14, and 15 for X, and making sure that 13 and 14 work, and 15 does not.

ok thanks!
