The pressure exerted by a constant number of gas molecules above a liquid or solid is called: A:equilibrium vapor pressure B:vapor pressure C:boiling pressure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

b

OpenStudy (rane):

a

OpenStudy (anonymous):

THANK U :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

WAIT WAT ? A OR B

OpenStudy (rane):

Equilibrium fumes pressure may be the vapour pressure of the liquid of which the pace of evaporation become comparable to rate of moisture build-up i.e. of which an equilibrium is made between liquid stage and vapour stage. Equilibrium fumes pressure is also referred to as saturated vapour pressure. It really is temperature reliant. Water vapor pressure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS equilibrium vap press....there is saturated vap press....but nothing like equilibrium vap press.....

OpenStudy (rane):

yes there is

OpenStudy (anonymous):

SO? WAT IS IT IM CONFUSED NOW

OpenStudy (rane):

did u understand

OpenStudy (anonymous):

NO...

OpenStudy (rane):

did u go ti this web

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok..there is a thing known as equilibrium press...glad u proved me wrong....bt the answr to the abve question is still not answered

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i searched wikipedia...they are showing that vapor pressure and equilibrium vap press are same....

OpenStudy (rane):

it is the answer becoz i remember a q' like this came in our test and i also said it waz vapour pressure bt it waz wrong

OpenStudy (rane):

the actuall ans waz equilibrium vapor pressure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well...search wikipedia...like i did.....both are right accd to them...

OpenStudy (rane):

can u give the direct link of the web of yours

OpenStudy (anonymous):

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vapor_pressure

OpenStudy (rane):

the q' asks "above the liquid" not in or at liquid

OpenStudy (rane):

by the way which part of that web tells or gives a clue abt the ans

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the very first line....:" Vapor pressure or equilibrium vapor pressure....."

OpenStudy (rane):

yes bt can u read the full sentence, further more "with its condensed phases (solid or liquid) " is this wht the q' asks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OMG PLEASE JUST TELL ME THE RIGHT ANSWERE..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Vapor pressure or equilibrium vapor pressure is the pressure exerted by a vapor in thermodynamic equilibrium with its condensed phases (solid or liquid) at a given temperature in a closed system.....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it means the vapor is applying pressure on the liquid...

OpenStudy (rane):

i can read from the web ....the q' asks "above liquid" then how can u talk about liquid

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A OR B GUYS JUST TELL ME

OpenStudy (rane):

do u know wht "above liquid" means?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OMG.....thats really incredible....

OpenStudy (rane):

its b

OpenStudy (rane):

yes..then if u know why r u arguing with a week info of yours

OpenStudy (anonymous):

SO ITS B?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is the difference between above liquid and liquid?? does vapor apply pressure under liquid?? or within it??

OpenStudy (rane):

its does not support your ans

OpenStudy (rane):

YES @AngelaEGarcia

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well...lets face it...both a and b...

OpenStudy (rane):

is that so then.. ask anyone from here

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay....the answer is equilibrium vap press which is also known as saturated vap press....you win!!!!!
