1. If the sin A = 0.9063, find m ∠A to the nearest degree.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2. If the cos B = 0.9659, find m ∠B to the nearest degree.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

if sin A = 0.9063, then you apply the arcsine to both sides to isolate A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jim_thompson5910 how do you do that?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

because arcsine is the inverse of sine

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

it undoes sine (much like division undoes multiplication)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Answer to A is 64.998, approximately 65 degrees

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jchiang how did you find that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To find sin^-1(n), ask "What angle has sin equal to n", that's my best explanation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so what about #2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you have a calculator, you can do cos^-1(0.9659).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

k, I need to go do MY homework. :]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks
