if I could get some ideas for this that would be much appreciated:) Imagine that you are the anchor person (ex. Katie Couric, Brian Williams, Diane Sawyer) for a T.V. News show. Your assignment is to write the introductory script for the evening news explaining the rise of the Populist Movement. The script must explain what the Populist Movement was about.

Your assignment is to write the introductory script for the evening news explaining the rise of the Populist Movement. The script must explain what the Populist Movement was about. ◾Who were the key people involved? ◾What were the key events? ◾What issues were Populists concerned about? ◾After providing the background information in your introduction, you will write an interview with either a real person from the Populist Movement or with one of the characters from the book The Wizard of Oz about the Populist Movement.
So what do you need help one. Your assignment is giving u all the instructions u need?
im a little confused about the populist movement. I didn't quite understand the lesson
The People's Party, also known as the "Populists" was a short-lived political party in the United States established in 1887. Based among poor white cotton farmers in the South (especially North Carolina, Alabama and Texas), and hard-pressed wheat farmers in the Plains states (especially Kansas and Nebraska), it represented a radical crusading form of agrarianism and hostility to banks, railroads and elites generally. It sometimes formed coalitions with labor unions, and in 1896 endorsed the Democratic presidential nominee, William Jennings Bryan. A People's Party grew out of agrarian unrest in response to falling cotton and wheat prices in the South and the trans-Mississippi West. Another factor was railroad rates. The party's platform, commonly known as the Omaha Platform, called for the abolition of national banks, a graduated income tax, direct election of Senators, civil service reform, a working day of eight hours and Government control of all railroads, telegraphs, and telephones. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/People's_Party_(United_States)
