What is the solution to the inequality shown below? -2x + 3 > 7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Have you tried graphing it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

dont know

OpenStudy (anonymous):

All you need to do is isolate the x: -2x+3>7 -2x>4 x<-2 I forget what the "solution" of an inequality is, but that should help!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i believe it has to be a solution like: (x,y) ...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

smokeydabear KNOWS HER STUFF!!! I LIKE HER MATH

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Haha but he might be right. Although I'm not sure where the "y" would come into this problem...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

BUT YOU WAS RIGHT.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah i think (x,y) would be for a system of inequalities... but this is just a single inequality... so @smokeydabear i believe your right :) \[-2x + 3 > 7\] \[x<-2\]
