Explain why a substance would sublime rather than melt into a liquid. What type(s) of solids generally sublime?
Sublimation happens to solids converting into gas directly skipping the melting phase or conversion into liquid. I'm actually high right now and answering the question I asked lmao. But when a solid sublimes it is usually due to its density. Metals usually melt rather than sublime because they are denser and have tighter molecules. And also remember high melting temperature = high conductivity. Plants usually sublime like leaves, paper, weed, wood because they have a low melting temperature (& low conductivity) which allows cooler heats to burn it faster. When the plant burns it reaches a heat that allows it to skip the melting process and thus Sublimation is formed.
jaja thats funny , im not high right now, maybe later, and thanks again
lol..your welcome anyway
