A triangle has a base of 10 centimeters and a height of 7 centimeters. Which is the total area of the triangle?
Area of a triangle is half the product of its base and height.
Thank you
Is it the same for parrallelograms?
No... if you have a base and height for a parallelogram, the area is just their product... base x height As opposed to a triangle, whose areas is \(\Large \frac12\) x base x height
Okay so I use base x height for the parallelogram?
Yup. :)
Okay thank you :)
can you help me with one more please
Hit me.
The dimensions shown are an approximation. Using these dimensions, which is the approximate area of ABC?
What do I do for this problem?
You have a base, and you have a height, so just use the formula for the area of a triangle :)
And thats it?!
That's it...
I feel dumb now.. but thank you hahha
But something is amiss...
I need professional opinion on this... @amistre64 impossible triangle?? http://assets.openstudy.com/updates/attachments/51924e7de4b0d270317e4723-amber1214-1368543261483-pi.gif
Im alwasy stuck on this problem can you help again please?
What's the question?
I need the area for the problem
You have two triangles... basically, get both of their areas and add them up...
You are so much simpler then the teacher I have at school.. thanks so much!
9-9-9 is possible, but that 8 in the middle, is representative of sqrt(3), with 4.5 being representative of 1 4.5^2 + 3 =abt 81 by chance?
thats didnt write up like i wanted lol
8^2 + 4.5^2 about 9^2?
I guess... or 4.5 times the square root of 3 is about 8... Sorry, @amistre64 , I got a little obsessive compulsive with that one :D
Oh, wait, it says the dimensions were an approximation... my bad, sorry for the bother :)
its close enough for the square block into the round hole iq test :)
