If you wanted to eliminate the y variable by adding the two equations in the following system, what could be your first step? x − y = 6 4x − 6y = 1 Add the two equations together. Multiply the first equation by 6. Multiply the first equation by −6. Multiply the first equation by −4.

@ikarus1991 dont worry abt that one. can we please continue?

OpenStudy (ddcamp):

Multiply the first equation by negative 6. To eliminate by adding, the coefficients must be the negative value of each other.

I dont have time for this. Im just trying to get answers because i have my final exam tomorow and i need alot of work done in order to get on that exam in the in the first place. when i get taken for exam, thenn ill study.

Wow.

You do realize that the whole purpose of this site is to help, and NOT to give out answers. You might want to review the CoC: http://openstudy.com/code-of-conduct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Did i ask you for the coc? no because ive read it already. why do you care? im going to learn most this stuff anyways but right now i just need help, and ur not really helping except waisting my time

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You would've already learned how to find the answer by now. I'm not wasting your time, you are. Instead of using the 39 minutes to study and practice how to do this, you choose to wait for someone to give you an answer... and shooing away the one person who tried to help you. Why do I care? Because the minute you said you just want the answers, no one will want to help. But you're right, it is none of my buisness, only a mod can do something about it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I didnt wait for 39 minutes for a single question i ever put up. And #2 every single person who has helped me tonigth knew my situation because it is really difficult one.

I went through that last week, and last year with Algebra... not fun, at all. So I get what you mean. However, its never ok to simply want answers, and saying you don't want an explanation and not collaborating...won't help you at all. If this is for the Algebra exam, you need to know how to work with this beforehand, trust me. :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah i know what you're saying but im just stuck in that zone where i need to cheat or else ill just fall offtrack. And i dont ever say no to when poeple try to explain. Just tonight, because i have much to be done and i just need someone who can help me raise my percentage bar, not my knowledge.
