A magnet place in a uniform field. Net force = zero?

OpenStudy (oneowone):

A magnetic moment being in a uniform magnetic field net force is equal to zero? Say a Solenoid is going to repel/attract a magnet. The magnet is nonuniform, while the external magnetic field is. Is there a force still?

OpenStudy (oneowone):

How is it that a magnet in a uniform magnetic field experiences no force at all...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No force once the magnet is inside the uniform field. One side is repelled and the other is attracted, and if the field is uniform the forces cancel each other. If it's not aligned with the field there will still be a net torque, but no net force.

Inside being "literary" inside the uniform magnetic field? |dw:1368715584794:dw| As so, a magnet being inside a uniform field created by a Solenoid.
