I have yet to read Of Mice of Men (planning to binge read Steinbeck sometime lol), but I love Animal Farm. The main point is how revolutions seem to be for the best, but are veiled human greed and easily attainable corruption. The animals took over the farm and drove out Mr. Jones and his family. As they begin to work together after the downfall of the previous owners of the farm, they need leaders, and the pigs fill in those spots. Every animal was made to allegorically represent a different part or person of the Russian Revolution. Old Major represents Karl Marx who laid the groundwork for the communistic ideal, Napoleon represents Joseph Stalin who led the ideal, Snowball was made to represent Leon Trotsky, the horses (notably Boxer) represent the working class who fueled the post revolution society, Squealer is the propaganda "mastermind." Those are the most notable, but I also really liked how Orwell made the pig's characteristics and the neighbor's (when they were eating together in the end of the story) indistinguishable.
