Which of the following is a true statement? The circumference of a circle passes through its center. The diameter of a circle is one-half of its radius. The radius of a circle has both endpoints on the circle. The circumference of a circle is the product of and its diameter.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first is false cuz circumference is the perimeter AROUND the circle. second is TRUE cuz radius is from one end of the circle to the other and diameter is to the midpoint. third is false cuz radius is to the EXTREME EDGE of the circle, not ON the circle. and last is false cuz like i said earlier, perimeter is aROUND the circle... do you get it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

We'll see if your right in a moment

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Unfotunately the first one is correct so your answer was wrong.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol umm okay ? haha I'm pretty sure its right tho... you could double check with someone else if you want.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The diameter is the long one you have your radius and your diameter wrong! that's why! thanks for the help though!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what? circumferences do not pass THROUGH the center. it is the perimeter AROUND... hmm ask your teacher about it... and no, radius is from one edge to the other of the circle, and diameter is from one edge to the midpoint. so diameter is 1/2 of the radius. are you sure you wrote the problem correctly?

@amistre64 @ash2326 can you please check this over? I thought this was right, but she/he says it was wrong? ;/ lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks for coming! i don't know, did i remember it wrong? lol i thought what i said was right lol.. what he/she says is the answer doesn't make sense though... what do u think?

OpenStudy (ash2326):

@iheartfood You are right about the first option, it's false. The last could be right too, The circumference of a circle is the product of and its diameter. I think pi is missing @dumbcowgirl is there a pi in the last statement

OpenStudy (amistre64):

The circumference of a circle passes through its center. the outside is not the center so no The diameter of a circle is one-half of its radius. a diameter is larger then a radius so no The radius of a circle has both endpoints on the circle. a radius is measured from the center to the edge, so no The circumference of a circle is the product of and its diameter. this one is most likely correct but theres a part missing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh lol so i did mix up the diameter and radius lol sorry bout that!!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and yeah didn't know about that last part ahha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

THE LAST HAS SOME FACT IN IT,THE FIRST 3 are mathematically wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so probs the last one is right... :/ lol i think @dumbcowgirl left... hmm awkward... lol anyways, thanks for coming to clarify that! @ash2326 @amistre64 :) cleared that a bit up for me as well! hehe thanks!
