Discuss the Role of African Americans in the Civil War. In what ways was their fate tied to the war? How did hey contribute to the war? Support your ideas with examples! This is a hard one.. for me at least. PLEASE HELP AWARDS!
@Anonymousstudent
African Americans in the Civil war was HUGE. They helped fight in the Civil War. If it wasn't for them rebelling and escaping to fight in the war, they probably would have been slaves for longer. Many African Americans went against their "owners" and fought for the north. After the North one, The African Americans were working in the south (Remember they were still in the military) and they were trying to keep the peace. Imagine yourself being a greedy, white, man who doesn't have anymore slaves. And now they're running the town. How would you feel about that? Not to great, then Jim Crow laws began. African Americans also helped when that crazy dude that I can't remember his name at the moment attacked a weapons place and tried to rebel. If I can remember the name I'll post xD It's on the tip of my tounge! Well I hope this helps for now.
JOHN BROWN! RAIDING HARPER FERRY. Alright, I'm done this question now. Anymore you need help with?
yes... Which of the following is true? A. the war might have been shorter if Ulysses S. Grant had been more willing to fight. B. Robert E. Lee believed that his best strategy was to never invade the North. C. Jefferson Davis refused to suspend the right of Habeas corpus. D. Abe Lincoln's main goal was to reunite the nation.
@Anonymousstudent ?!
Oh shoots. You stumped me. Uhhhh. Give me a second to think on this one. :P
Thank you!
Alright, this question is VERY difficult. Because Abe Lincoln was going at first for slavery, but then halfway through his campaign he's like NAHHH LETS REUNITE THE NATION. But! If Grant did fight the war could have been shorter, but no one really knows that. It could have taken longer, shorter, You can't predict what will happen based on that. I don't think it's B, because the South were just animals. And C, I'm not too sure of. Because for awhile they did want to suspend it. ( I think?) Girl, you have a tough one, and even I'm stumped.
So to be quite honest. I have no idea. This question is gosh awful, did your teacher come up with this? Because if she/he did, that person is really. really cruel. Hahah
Yes my teacher did;/ and i kinda don't like history;/ too difficult to remember what these old people did.. but i appreciate ur help! thank you! you mean a lot.... i have more!! haha wanna help?
@Anonymousstudent
Yeah for a little bit longer, then I have to go to bed xD I have to wake up early tomorrow morning :P
okay:) alright....i have 2 more.. what adjective describes the surrender terms that Ulysses S. Grant offered Rober E. Lee? A. Vengeful B. Weak C. Unrealistic D. Generous
Next question: it' kinda hard. Compare the Union's millitary leaders at the beginning of the war (George McClellan, Ambrose Burnside) with it's military leaders later in the war (Ulysses S. Grant, William Tecumsh Sherman). How are they alike and different? How did their strategies and attitudes about war affect the progess and outcome of the Civil war?
Alright let me look at past homeworks. :P
okay
I don't have that one, or anything like it. I'm sorry! And I can't remember anything about the civil war, well the war geerals anyway. I'm sorry!
okay mcclellan was way to careful. he was removed by lincoln because lincoln wanted to end the war quickly. he was replaced by burnside, and burnside used very aggresive tactics and led to many deaths in comaprison to confed. deaths. Ulysses S Grant was also an agressive leader, he was famous for Vicksburg, and Sherman was famous for his campiagn in Georgia, where he burned many cities
