how do you prove two is an even integer or three is an even integer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

two is an even int. because remainder comes 0 whn it divide by 2 but how three is an even integer???

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

If you want to prove a disjunctive statement (an OR statement) you just have to show that at least one of those two statements is true. In this case, the two statements are "two is an even integer" and "three is an even integer" Is one of these true?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

two is even

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

That's right. So since one of the two statements "disjuncted" (lol I made that word up) or separated by the "or" is true, then the whole disjunctive statement (A or B) is true. NOTE: This was just a sketch of the proof, but you get the idea :)

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

No problem :)
