How do I find the percentile of a set of data? Medal and fan!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Also, how do I find a z-score?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[z=\frac{x-\mu}{\sigma}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's the formula to find the z-score, I assume? What do the variables represent?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x = variable \(\mu\) = mean \(\sigma\) = standard deviation z = z-score

okey dokey! thanks! now I just need to figure out how to find the percentiles lol.

"A percentile is a value such that for the pth percentile, 0 < p < 100, p% of the data is less than the percentile value." Source: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20071006162953AA3Oh8x
