I'm in precal too -.-. It's tough. What's the question?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
G(x) = 3x 2 - 2x - 1
G(6) =
287
95
23
@Aki-chan
OpenStudy (anonymous):
i maen 3x^2
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ok the G(6) means you substitute ^ in for the x values of the function
OpenStudy (anonymous):
*6

Because of order of operations, you should get 108-12-1, giving you the answer 95
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yup lol
OpenStudy (anonymous):
F(x) = x 2 + 2
F(x 2) =
@Aki-chan this one is a little confusing
OpenStudy (anonymous):
by x 2, is it x^2?

yes @Aki-chan
OpenStudy (anonymous):
k
OpenStudy (anonymous):
basically, you do the same thing as before, substituting the x values for x^2
OpenStudy (anonymous):
3
OpenStudy (anonymous):
that should give you x^4+2x^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):
What you substitute in depends on what the F(x) is
OpenStudy (anonymous):
I don't think the equation has an actual number answer
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Given: F(x) = x + 2 and G(x) = 3x + 5
(F - G) (x) =

? oh
OpenStudy (anonymous):
one sec...
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ok,so when it says (f-g), you literally subtract g from function f
OpenStudy (anonymous):
it would look like (f-g) = (x+2)-(3x+5).
You distribute the negative/subtraction sign to both terms in (3x+5)
Combining like terms, the answer would be -2x-3
