"Ladies, gentlewomen, and other inferior women" It's talking about the three major social classes of the Renaissance: Gentlewomen being the highest ranking, those of Noble blood. Ladies being middle class, wife/daughter of an earl or duke. "Other inferior women" are the commoners, peasants, farmers - they don't hold a true "title"
