(2x^2 + 3x-20)/ (4+x) limit as x approaches -4? Is it infinity?

OpenStudy (zarkon):

factor the numerator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I tried, but had a hard time.

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

Synthetic division. Try using the denominator as a possible factor

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got it! -13

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

@LucyLu15 What does that even mean? What did you try? When did you decide it was TOO hard? Try again. You will not get it if you quit! 2x^2 + 3x-20 = (2x )(x ) Factoring -20 gives: -1*20 -2*10 -4*5 -20*1 -10*2 -5*4 There are ONLY six possibilities. Try all six. If they ALL fail, THEN you can declare it "too hard to factor".
