It sounds like "groupthink." 

"Groupthink" is basically where all the people in a group try to keep in agreement. 

Like if the group believes in some idea, 
the rest of the group will tend to agree with the idea, 
just to feel the comfort of being in agreement with the entire group. 

The people who don't agree with the idea will usually keep their mouths shut, 
because they don't want to be seen as outcasts.

Basic theory of 'the masses'. Despite a different or indifferent opinion just the simplistic physical presence of three or more can shift an opinion or inability to express an individual opinion positive or negative. Peer pressure in a sense.
