what is the difference between Voltage drop in resistor and voltage across a resistor.

OpenStudy (kenljw):

The absolute value of voltage across a resistor is always greater than or equal to zero. The voltage drop across a resistor is in accordance to conventional current flow, and is measured positive from were the current enters. This is how a meter reads it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in a simple word a voltage drop across resistor means how much voltage is lost where as voltage across a resistor means how much is the true voltage for the particular value of source you have given
