Mr. Kavanaugh is handing yesterday's homework assignment back to the class. If there are 27 students in the class, what is the probability that Jacob will NOT be the first student to receive his paper?

The probability of something happening can be expressed as \[\frac{ valid solutions }{ total solutions } * 100\] Assuming there is only one Jacob in the class, there are 26 valid solutions (everyone other than Jacob) and 27 total solutions since that's how many students are in the class. Therefore, the probability would be \[\frac{ 26 }{ 27 } * 100\] which is ~96.3%
