Solve for m. -3 + m 9 = 10

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

not too sure what you wrote here

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you might want to re-write it. it is a little messy and not understandable :) thank you

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

try not to copy and paste from your homework

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-3 + m __________= 10 sorry I copy and pasted and it posted it like that 9

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

ahh....well you want to isolate 'x' in the long run... first begin by getting rid of that fraction on the left side how do you do that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No idea

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

there's no x so there's no x to isolate whether it may be the short run or long run

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

thank you @nincompoop I meant 'm'

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Perform the inverse operations. Like John said, you should get rid of the division by doing to inverse (opposite which is multiplying). So instead of dividing by 9, do the inverse

OpenStudy (anonymous):

isolate the variable
