—¿Dicen Uds. la verdad? —Sí, siempre la _____. A. dicen B. decimos C. dice D. digo

This is part of a conversation, between two people. So let's start off with a question: What does the word "ustedes" mean?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes. It means "you." Is it plural or singular?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it's singular

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's plural actually. There are three ways to say "you," in Spanish. "Tú" "Usted" "Ustedes" ~~~~~~~~~~~ We use "Tú" when we're talking to someone who we know. It is INFORMAL and SINGULAR. We use "usted" when we're talking to someone who we don't know very well. It is FORMAL and SINGULAR. We use "ustedes" when we're talking to many people, at once. So it is PLURAL.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So right now, we are looking at a conversation, between two people. This is what the first person is saying: "Dicen ustedes la verdad?" ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Here's a question: How many people is the first person talking to? One person? Or more than one person?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

One I think

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Did you read the explanation that I just gave you?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When do we use "ustedes"?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When talking to many people

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ooooh I didn't see it in the sentence, ahaa my fault
