solve 2^6x=4^(5x+1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i thought it was x=-2 but my teacher said it was x=-1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4^(5x+1)= 2^(2*(5x+1)) --> 2^6x= 2^(10x+2)---> 6x=10x+2 --> x=-2

sam (.sam.):

Both your teacher and your answer is incorrect

sam (.sam.):

\[\huge 2^{6x}=4^{(5x+1)} \\ \\\huge 2^{6x}=2^{2(5x+1)} \] Since the bases are the same \[6x=2(5x+1)\] \[6x=10x+2 \\ \\ 4x=-2 \\ \\ x=-\frac{1}{2}\]
