cot (-pi/3)

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Have you considered an equivalent expression in terms of sine and cosine?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, I am having trouble solving it

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Let's see your sine and cosine version.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cos= 2squarroot 3/3

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

I was hoping for this: \(\cot(-\pi/3) = \dfrac{\cos(-\pi/3)}{\sin(-\pi/3)}\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so is it the square root of 3/3

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Simplest thing is to say that the cot is the reciprocal of the tangent. Tangent of pi/3=sqrt3. cotangent is 1/sqrt3=sqrt3/3
