Is there a group for Earth science? Which subject should I choose then?

OpenStudy (compassionate):

Hello, You should try Geography or Physics.

OpenStudy (dumbsearch2):

Isn't Earth science more part of biology ? Geography: I wouldn't think, cause it's more the immediate appearance, like from a map... Earth science is like hard-core oceanography... Physics ? I wouldn't think, that's more the theory of objects and their rules...

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Earth Science and Biology are sort of on the same level. Biology, as a broad field, covers all biological systems on all levels. Earth Science covers all earth systems, including the biological ones, but does not get down to the intricate workings of micro biology.

OpenStudy (compassionate):

Physics would cover the eccentrics working of the Earth Biology would cover the organisms and how they function Geography tells you where they're at one the Earth They're all forums of Earth Science in this sense.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

They generally seperate Earth Science from Life Science as the overall, 100% encompassing thing. Earth Science is both an overall heading, like Life Science, and a field of study, like Biology. I say that because I have seen classes in Earth Science, but never a class in Life Science, always Health, Biology, etc. However, I have also seen places with the categories Earth Sciences and Life Sciences and no specific class in Earth Science. So it is a term that gets used many ways.

OpenStudy (compassionate):

No need to argue over semantics. Just point the lady in the right direction. I recommend biology and physics.

OpenStudy (dumbsearch2):

lol. @Compassionate, our point is that it's Biology is the right topic.

OpenStudy (compassionate):

Allow me to rephrase that. "I'm right because I just am."

OpenStudy (dumbsearch2):

? No need to be feisty, young fellow :)

OpenStudy (compassionate):

I'm just poking fun at you. :)

OpenStudy (preetha):

Sharon, We have a Geography group. Or you may have to think about whether the question is more physics/chemistryor Bio. You could post it in all three if it is sort of integrated - has aspects of all. And you can post the link to the question on the Math chat and see if someone there can help. Good luck.
